Are your products royalty free?
Yes, all of our products are royalty free, and can be distributed to any number of end users without any additional cost.

What language dictionaries are available for your products?
SpellText and SpellEditor have US English and UK English versions available.

SpellServer.NET and SpellServer have US English, UK English, French and Spanish dictionaries available.  SpellServer also includes a medical dictionary.

Evaluation versions of our software are available only with the US English dictionary.   See the Update page for your product to get downloading instructions for other languages.

How much do you charge for technical support and updates?
We offer lifetime free technical support and updates.  Free updates include major version releases - once you buy one of our products, you own it for life.

Is Microsoft Word required for your products?
No - none of our products use the spell checking functionality of Microsoft Word.  However, SpellEditor does support loading and saving Word documents (DOC files), and Word is required for that specific functionality.

What is AutoType?
AutoType is available in both SpellEditor and SpellText.  It allows you to configure phrases that will automatically be inserted into your document when a sequence of keys is typed.

Examples of AutoType include: typing "sig" and having your complete signature inserted, or typing "prod1234" and having the official name of a product be inserted.

AutoType pairs (the keystrokes and their corresponding replacements) are set up by a simple method call, and pairs can be saved or loaded to either the registry or a file.

Are SpellEditor or SpellText native .NET controls?
No.  Both SpellText and SpellEditor are COM objects, packaged as OCX files.  However, both SpellText and SpellEditor are completely compatible with .NET programming languages like C# or VB.NET.

How long have you been in business?
Chado Software was founded in 1998.  We're based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
